History

NanoMech, LLC is a privately held company that was formed in 2001. The company's Chief Technology Officer Dr. Ajay Malshe partnered with the technology venture development firm Virtual Incubation Company in the formation of NanoMech. Upon receiving its first external funding in January 2003, NanoMech began working to develop nanomanufactured products based on a coating technology exclusively licensed from the University of Arkansas.

In 2008, a subsidiary company called Duralor® was formed to bring to market the multiple awards winning TuffTek coating for cutting tools. An initial investment round of $1,000,000 was obtained and a management team from the cutting tool industry was recruited for Duralor®.

In May 2009, NanoMech and Duralor® had a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring numerous regional dignitaries for its new custom-designed 8,300 sq. ft. facility built in Springdale, Arkansas. The company also maintains research and development facilities in the Arkansas Research and Technology Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
