TuffTekTM is an extremely wear-resistant composite coating made from cubic boron nitride (cBN) particulates in a titanium nitride (TiN) matrix*. It is suitable for harsh machining applications such as turning of hardened or pre-hardened steels. The coating can be applied to tungsten carbide inserts of many types, including those with chip breakers. The specially designed product matrix can utilize other materials such as TiC, TiCN, HfN, etc., for specific applications. |
