Over the past few years, requirements and challenges of lubrication and lubricants have changed significantly. High performance, high fuel efficiency, low cost, and environmentally sensitive features have become top priorities. In an effort to meet these challenges, NanoMech has recently developed a new advanced lubricant called NanoGlide^®.

NanoGlide^® is a unique organic-inorganic composite in which particles of a well-known solid lubricant, molybdenum disulphide, have been encapsulated with biodegradable vegetable oil and a proprietary multi-purpose emulsifier. These surface engineered sub-microscopic particles, made using a patented nanomanufacturing technique, can be very well dispersed in a variety of commercial, industrial and automotive oils and greases to prepare stable, application-specific advanced lubricants.

NanoGlide^® based lubricants can be used in various applications where special performance is required — for example, in cases where oils or greases fail or are inadequate because they are either squeezed away or evaporated, high friction or wear occurs creating floating wear debris that damages critical mechanical components and also consumes excessive energy causing environmental  concerns. NanoGlide® is expected to find applications as an additive to, or in replacement of: engine oils, gear oils, greases, hydraulic oils, transmission oils, metalworking fluids, conveyor chain lubricants and industrial lubricants.    It can be easily blended with most commercial oils such as paraffin oil, mineral oil, vegetable oil and greases. When compared with other additives, its unique design of small size solid lubricant particles along with environmentally friendly organic additives makes it stable as an additive and the best choice as an environmentally benign high-performance lubricant.
